GemEx IdentiView is the first instant diamond identification tool that positively identifies a diamond based on its unique cut faceting. It is easy for consumers and professionals alike to quickly verify that the diamond in hand is the same one certified and recorded in the online IdentiView Registry that can be accessed on GemEx.com with the Diamond I.D. number. The IdentiView Certificate is included online with each GemEx Report. The IdentiView image can be accessed at www.gemex.com/identiview
IdentiView is easy to use. Simply look through the GemEx IdentiViewer™* to see a diamond’s IdentiView ID Image and compare the image to the printed or online IdentiView image. If the diamond doesn’t look the same… Look Out!
There is no danger in losing your IdentiView™ Certificate as long as you register your diamond at GemEx.com. Once your diamond is registered, it is archived forever in the online IdentiView&trade Registry. This registry is always accessible from anywhere in the world and you receive a discount on your insurance premiums when your diamond is registered with GemEx.
The GemEx IdentiView™ System consists of four components:
- BrillianceScopeŽ Analyzer
The BrillianceScope® is a patented imaging spectrophotometer
(U.S. Patent #5,615,005) developed by a physicist, an electrical engineer and a mechanical engineer to measure the Light Performance of a diamond in the three light performance categories: white light (brilliance), color light (fire) and scintillation (sparkle). The play of light in a diamond makes it beautiful. The beauty of a diamond in real world conditions is determined by its Light Performance. The BrillianceScope measures each diamond at five different light views for the percentage of the diamond returning bright white light, the percentage of the diamond returning bright color light and the number of light points and how they change from light view to light view. GemEx also measures the IdentiView image that identifies a diamond the same way that a picture identifies a person.
- GemEx IdentiView Certificate
The IdentiView Certificate is included on every GemEx Report for easy identification by the jeweler or consumer. The GemEx Report has become known and respected worldwide for its accuracy and repeatability. Each Report shows the diamond’s Light Performance images, bar graph ratings and the IdentiView ID Image.
- GemEx IdentiView Registry
The Registry is an Internet-accessible database of all diamonds submitted to and certified by GemEx. The diamond can be accessed by the Diamond ID number. There is no membership required. Using the Diamond ID or Analysis number allows consumers, retailers, diamond dealers, law enforcement officials, and insurance agents to access the images of the diamond including IdentiView at any time on the Internet.
- GemEx IdentiViewer™
It’s “Peace of Mind” for you! The GemEx IdentiViewer™ is a convenient, handheld diamond magnifier used to see the faceting and “architecture” of the diamond in hand. By comparing what you see to the registered IdentiView Image in your GemEx Report, you get instantaneous confirmation the diamond you have in hand is the same one as certified by GemEx.
The GemEx IdentiViewer™ is a quick and easy way to positively identify your diamond, anywhere, anytime. The IdentiViewer works with diamonds mounted in a setting or loose. Using the IdentiViewer makes it simple for both diamond professionals and consumers to identify their diamond. It’s the comfort of knowing your diamond can’t be mistaken or confused with a less valuable diamond during setting or cleaning, or if it is loaned to a customer or friend. The comparison IdentiViewer Image can be viewed on the GemEx Report. The GemEx Report is available printed or online, in the permanent GemEx Registry archive. Only those diamonds that have been certified by GemEx have a registered IdentiView Image!
How you use it: To view the diamond, hold it near the opening at the bottom of the IdentiViewer and look through the lens. Move the diamond until the shaded faceting patterns and lines come into view.
