GemEx® Introduces ION Table Mark Engraving for the Diamond Industry at their Headquarters
Engrave logos, pictures and serial numbers on diamonds with GemEx ION
GemEx Systems, the global leader in diamond Brilliance, Fire & Sparkle Certification, is now offering their patented ION table engraving at their headquarters. Wholesalers and retailers can send their diamonds to GemEx for unique table mark engravings. GemEx ION works with members of the diamond industry to differentiate their diamonds with unique inscriptions, brand logos, serial numbers, pictures and personalized messages that cannot be easily duplicated. Working with their jewelry retailer and GemEx, diamond consumers can have a personalized image engraved on their diamond this holiday season.
Precision marking the table of a diamond is the premier way to uniquely personalize and authenticate a diamond. ION engraving is the next generation of diamond identification and is superior to girdle engraving. The technology marks the diamond with a clean, clear marking that is a hidden, secret message not visible to the human eye. GemEx obtained the patent for Focused ION Beam technology in 2007 and has been developing and testing the technology to speed up and simplify ION engraving. GemEx has advanced the technology to engrave loose and mounted diamonds. The engraving can be created so it is visible with a loupe or engraved so it is invisible to a loupe but easily viewed with an inexpensive GemEx Holographic Diamond Viewer.
As verified by established gem laboratories, the ION engraving does not affect the diamond’s color and clarity and using the BrillianceScope®, GemEx has confirmed that the engraving does not affect diamond Light Performance®.
GemEx developed the Holograph Diamond Viewer (HDV) to view the engraving. There are two low cost versions of the HDV. One is used by the retail store and the other is for the consumer. Both versions allow the user to easily see the unique diamond table engraving created by GemEx ION. HDV provides for a fun, interactive experience for the jeweler and consumer.
Members of the diamond industry can now send their diamonds to GemEx for engraving along with an electronic file of the image they would like engraved.
